Under the surging leaves, the tide that blocks the sky.
It's blue, dark.
Interlocked grains, turning from clay to ash.
Adrift, I'm all sight.
Their echoes are round structures of light. Hearth.
Clutching at stars, devouring those who rot into the earth.
Like pillars of stone held by the ground, they wait for the oncoming.
Inside an ocean of wind.
Foreboding.
A spectre in the trees.
Spiralling leaves fall around me.
Reaching hands hold corroded eyes,
whose morning song is lost to grey.
Stoic, sharing the same vision.
Dark wings mask salted beaks.
I'll glide though quartz, like fresh fallen snow.
The path is bound by the autumn.
In here I'll breathe water until I drown.
Honestly, this might be favorite release from these guys. While the sprawling nature of the songs on Griseus (and to a lesser extent, Bellum I) allow for a lot of great stuff to be shown off, I need to be in a specific mood to appreciate them.
Arbor doesn't really have that problem, however. This EP has a manageable length that still leaves me satisfied at the end of the day. Plus, all four of the songs here are among the best the band has to offer in general. honeycombguy
